Canuck care packages…

on 11:00 pm

Merriam-Webster defines a “care-package” as a package of useful or pleasurable items that is sent or given as a gift to another.

Ever since moving to Portugal I have yet to receive a care package, with goodies to satisfy my hankering for Canuck stuff.

However, if I could get a care package (or ask friends/family to bring me something if/when them visit me), I would ask for the following (in no particular order):
- Tim Horton's coffee (though it’s never the same brewed at home)
- good old donuts from Country Style or Tim Horton’s (Boston cream and apple & spice being my favourites)
- Dr. Pepper and root beer
- Nibs (and Super Nibs)
- Twizzlers

While I have been able to find some of these on Amazon.com , shipping is always a pretty big obstacle, and ends up surpassing the cost of the good.

So what would you have sent from Canada, if you could pick?

I'd kill for a double double and a boston cream right now...

Last year Daddy Bravo brought a huge bag of marshmallows only to discover that it's impossible to find plain Rice Krispie cereal (I still have a hankering for rice krispie squares). Other items on my request list included green thai curry paste and pesto but I would give just about anything for some root beer and twizzlers! ;-)

I think that the hardest product to find here in Portugal are Dr. Peppers, I've allways wanted to drink one but it's impossible to find one. Are they very differente from Coca-Cola, Pepsi or Canada Dry Spur Cola? this last one was common here in Portugal in the 80s and early90s, now it's almost impossible to find.

Helder Carvalho:
Dr. Pepper is very different from any known soda. I think you either love it or hate it (many times it's described as tasting like medicine).

It's pretty hard to describe the taste.

And you're right, it's pratically impossible to find here in Portugal, though I've heard that the Sá chain of stores sometimes carry it, though I've never seen it sold there.

I've found a supermarket that sells Dr. Pepper's, it was in the Algarve, in Vilamoura, inthe Lago Azul residential complex, the supermarket is called Jaffers. I've bought two cans, but I didn't liked the taste, it tastes like medicine with a touch of raspberry.

I do agree with all the ideas you've presented in your post. They are very

convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very short for beginners. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.

pictures aren't loading properly. I'm not sure why but I think
its a linking issue. I've tried it in

two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
